What a glorious day it was to be with our brothers and sisters!
This week the meditation was given by Deacon in Training Annie Furrey and her subject was Believe While Your Going Through.
"Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident." The New International Version
Deacon in Training Annie gave us beautiful examples of how she had to wait and believe while God did His marvelous work. We must believe through the shadows that are thrown at us by this world and know that God's love is the driving force to work all things for our good. Believing and waiting brings rejoicing and praise!
Minister Antoinette Pickett brought the preached Word this week with a sermon titled
A Perfect God.
Scriptures:
Psalm 18:30-32
Genesis 1:1-2
Matthew 5:16
Minister Pickett stressed that God brought order to what was once chaos, chaos exists because of rebellion, Jesus is the Light in a dark world and whosoever come to our perfect God and confess their sins will be forgiven, made righteous and ordered from their chaos.
We are God's workmanship and evil attempts to lessen the works of our perfect and just God. She made reference to Isaiah 5:20-23 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent." The New International Version.
Minister Pickett encouraged us with Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."The New International Version.
Minister Pickett then called us to action Matthew 16:24 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me" The New International Version , Matthew 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"The New International Version and Matthew 28:20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” The New International Version.
She concluded beautifully with even though we make mistakes we are perfect in our heart because it is connected to God's heart. God overcomes with His perfect love. His Word is flawless. God's gift is life. Amen!
